Negotiations to Settle Mideast Crisis
When one engages a bodyguard, one expects to pay a fee. Why shouldn’t the oil kingdoms defray our costs for defending them? Without our help nothing could have prevented Hussein from taking it all. Paying our costs, which they can well afford, will entail no sacrifice on their part. They will get it all back in due course because, unfortunately, we will still need to buy the oil we saved for them.
