Driver Who Ran Red Light Dies in Crash
A Sherman Oaks woman died Sunday when her car was broadsided by another car because she failed to stop at a red light, police said.
Sook Hi Lee, 72, was driving east on Burbank Boulevard about 7:30 a.m. when she ran a red light at Hazeltine Avenue, Los Angeles Police Officer Dennis Smith said. She was struck by an auto driven by Ara Mouradian, 29, of Van Nuys, who was driving south on Hazeltine.
Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her 72-year-old husband, Eung Lee, was admitted to the Medical Center of North Hollywood for treatment of possible fractured ribs. He also complained of neck and shoulder pain.
Mouradian was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and released.
