Brian Craft-Negrete and Greg Cipolla each scored a goal as host San Diego State defeated Cal State San Bernardino, 2-1, in a nonconference match.

Robby Becker scored on penalty kick in the 89th minute to allow Cal State San Bernardino (1-1) to avoid a shutout. SDSU is 2-0.

UC San Diego got second-half goals from Kevin Legg and Ryan Nutting and improved to 1-1 with a 2-0 defeat of Grand Canyon at UCSD.
