Orange County sheriff’s deputies were searching late Tuesday for a missing 90-year-old man who apparently took a wrong turn in Mission Viejo and got lost, authorities said.

Ted Adams, of Laguna Hills, was last seen behind the wheel of his red and white Cadillac near the intersection of Alicia Parkway and Jeronimo Road at 3:45 p.m., Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Mendez said.

Adams was trailing an unidentified friend driving another car and apparently made a wrong turn. Mendez said when the friend noticed that Adams wasn’t following, the friend doubled back in search of the 1978 El Dorado.

Adams was reported missing by his wife at 4:45 p.m. when he failed to turn up at their home on Avenida Majorca, about three miles from the area where he was last seen.

“He has no medical problems that we know of,” Mendez said.

Adams was described as white, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds, with gray hair, brown eyes and a deep tan. The license plate on his car reads “TED A OK.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at (714) 647-7000.
