Out of the Vault: “The Steve Allen Show” will return to the air Oct. 1 on “HA! The TV Comedy Network.” Entertainer Allen, MTM Enterprises Inc. and MTV Networks have entered into a deal to broadcast 100 half-hour episodes of the comedy classic on the MTV-owned cable network. These episodes of the award-winning series have not been seen on TV since they were first aired live on NBC from 1956-60; Allen has had the tapes in personal storage. Allen will film new introductions to the shows and tell personal anecdotes. The original show’s guest list includes Milton Berle, Bob Hope, Henry Fonda, Groucho Marx, Sammy Davis Jr. and Jerry Lewis.
