3rd Man Arrested in Murder, Rapes
Police have arrested a third suspect in a kidnaping that left one teen-age girl dead and two women raped and stabbed, Detective Mike Cormican said.
Vincent Lopez, 29, of Pomona was taken into custody at a Montclair home and booked at San Bernardino County Jail on one count of murder, three counts of rape, three counts of kidnaping and two counts of attempted murder, police said.
Lopez and two other men, who were arrested last week, allegedly kidnaped Yvette Woodruff, her 17-year-old friend and the friend’s 33-year-old mother from an Ontario home Sept. 2. The victims, all Ontario residents, were driven to an isolated industrial area and raped, police said. Woodruff was shot once in the head and died.
Still at large is a fourth suspect who police believe participated in a burglary at the Ontario residence but left before the other crimes took place.
