From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Neil Bush’s Petition Rejected: Federal regulators rejected arguments by Neil Bush that he cannot be issued a cease-and-desist order for his activities as a director of the failed Silverado savings and loan from 1985 to mid-1988 because he is no longer a director. The Office of Thrift Supervision wants President Bush’s son barred from activities at any federally insured financial institution. A public hearing is scheduled in Denver on Sept. 25.
