Harry William Keipp, a draftsman and longtime Van Nuys resident, has died in Van Nuys. He was 62.

Keipp died Friday of cancer, said his cousin, Harriet Brewster.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Keipp attended UCLA where he took classes in engineering and draftsmanship. He moved to Van Nuys in the mid-1950s, about the same time he started his career as a draftsman. He worked at various companies in the Los Angeles area and in 1979 was hired by Teledyne Laars in Moorpark. He worked there until June, when he left because of his illness.

He is survived by his son, Richard Keipp of Clarksville, Tenn.

Burial Wednesday at Inglewood Cemetery will be private. Pierce Brothers-Meyer Mitchell Mortuary in Van Nuys handled the arrangements.
