A bouncer charged with murdering a patron at a Redondo Beach bar pleaded not guilty Wednesday to the charge in South Bay Municipal Court.

Eric Charles Meyer, 32, of Torrance has been in custody since Sept. 1, when, according to police, he threw a Harbor City father of three down a short flight of steps and onto the concrete patio at Pancho & Wong’s bar near King Harbor.

The victim, Michael Alvey, suffered massive head injuries and died three days later at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center without regaining consciousness.
