Amoco May Seek Oil in Siberia: Its Amoco Eurasia Petroleum Co. unit signed a protocol with the Soviet state gas industry to study the feasibility of developing oil fields in western Siberia as a joint venture with Soviet organizations. Amoco said it believes the oil and natural gas resources of the western Siberian fields are significant. Amoco’s ongoing talks also concern possible petroleum exploration and development in other areas of the Soviet Union.
