Orange County Sheriff’s Department homicide investigators Friday asked for the public’s help in finding five men suspected of shooting one man to death and wounding another last weekend at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley.

Hoa Le, 34, of Los Angeles was killed and Ngoc Lee Phung, 26, of Anaheim was wounded during the Sept. 8 attack, Sheriff’s Lt. Richard J. Olson said.

Olson declined to comment on many details of the shooting, including possible motive, but he did say that the incident did not appear to be related to gangs and that the victims apparently knew their assailants.

After the shooting, suspects were seen leaving the park near the intersection of Heil Avenue and Euclid Street in three vehicles, Olson said, one of which was described as a black 1988 Nissan Sentra with license 2PGP738.

“Sheriff’s investigators have attempted to locate the five suspects, without any success,” according to a Sheriff’s Department statement released Friday.

“Although all five are from the Anaheim-Santa Ana area, it is unknown where they might be,” the statement said.

The suspects sought on arrest warrants on suspicion of murder are:

* Hoang Xuan Nguyen, 23, of Anaheim, who is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.

* Phong (Paul) Chuhang Phan, 18, of Santa Ana, 5 feet, 5 inches and 124 pounds.

* Chau Van Phung, 34, of Anaheim, 5 feet, 6 inches and 110 pounds.

* Minh Cong Do, 18, of Anaheim, 5 feet, 5 inches and 110 pounds.

* Hao Day Thai, 24, of Anaheim, 5 feet, 8 inches and 150 pounds.
