Body Found in Santee Creek Bed

Sheriff’s homicide detectives Saturday were investigating the death of an unidentified man in his 50s whose body was found in a creek bed in Santee.
Homicide Sgt. Steve Wood said the man appeared to have been in the water for about two weeks.
Deputy Coroner Cal Vine said cause of death was unknown and an autopsy was pending.
The man’s body was found by passersby about 8:30 a.m. Saturday in a creek alongside the 9500 block of Prospect Avenue, Wood said.
