British Aerospace Sells More Quiet Jets

British Aerospace PLC announced it has firm orders for 25 of its BAe 146 aircraft, with options for eight more, in a deal worth about $900 million for the British company.

British Aerospace has now sold 293 of the four-engine airliner that entered service in 1983 and is known as the quiet jet. It can seat between 70 and 120 passengers.

The total value of the latest package of orders, including options on the additional eight aircraft and spares, approaches 500 million pounds, or $900 million.
