THE SIDELINES : PGA Tour Hall of Fame Plans Told

The PGA Tour plans to build a Hall of Fame on a 4,500-acre site it is buying in southern Duval County.

The proposed complex would include the PGA Tour Hall of Fame, a permanent home for PGA Tour Productions, two championship golf courses, a resort hotel, residential areas and a 1,500-acre wetlands park.

The sale could be completed by the first of the year, said Vernon Kelly, president of PGA Tour Investments, and the project could be built in 1992. Projected costs were not revealed.
