A 50-year-old man was shot to death by a robber who stole his pickup truck Monday in Granada Hills, Los Angeles police said.

The victim was shot in the upper torso at 5 p.m. in front of an auto parts store in the 10200 block of Woodley Avenue and died at Granada Hills Hospital, said Detective Wayne Newton.

The victim’s name was not released because relatives had not been notified.

Police said the killer approached the victim as he came toward his late-model brown pickup truck and there was a struggle.
