SOUTHWEST ROUNDUP : TCU Strikes in Final Minute to Beat Oklahoma State, 31-21

Jeff Wilkinson kicked a tie-breaking 17-yard field goal with 30 seconds left and Greg Evans added a 41-yard interception return for a touchdown shortly after that, lifting Texas Christian to a 31-21 nonconference victory over Oklahoma State Saturday night at Ft. Worth, Tex.

The Horned Frogs (2-1) trailed, 21-7, at halftime. Sophomore Leon Clay led the comeback, passing 10 yards to Kyle McPherson for a touchdown and scoring on a one-yard dive to tie the score, 21-21.

Oklahoma State fell to 2-2.

No. 12 Texas A&M; 40, North Texas 8--Lance Pavlas threw for three first-half touchdowns and Darren Lewis became Texas A&M;’s career rushing leader as the 12th-ranked Aggies (3-0) won at College Station, Tex.

Pavlas’ touchdown pass plays covered six yards to fullback Robert Wilson, 40 yards to Shane Garrett and 18 yards to Gary Oliver.

Lewis gained 132 yards in 26 carries and scored on a 12-yard run in the third quarter. His 3,711 yards breaks Curtis Dickey’s record of 3,703.

Baylor 13, Sam Houston State 9--Lee Miles’ 46-yard pass play from Brad Goebel set up Jeff Ireland’s 25-yard field goal with 12:29 left as the Bears (1-2) rallied for a nonconference victory over the Bearkats (1-2) at Waco, Tex.
