Irving Terry; Developer and Charity Fund-Raiser

Irving Terry, a Los Angeles industrial developer whose efforts over many years helped raise millions of dollars for the City of Hope and other charities, died Friday of cancer at UCLA Medical Center. He was 78.

A former city transportation commissioner under Mayors Sam Yorty and Tom Bradley, Terry developed Terry-Commerce Park, an industrial park in the City of Commerce, and founded the Wilkins Pressure Regulator Co.

Survivors include his wife, Esther, a daughter, a brother, three stepdaughters, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
