WORLD IN BRIEF : ISRAEL : Court Clears Way to Raze Gaza Buildings

Israel’s Supreme Court ruled that the army could raze Palestinian houses and shops along a Gaza Strip street where a crowd stoned and burned an Israeli soldier to death. The three-judge court agreed with the army that the demolitions are an urgent military need and can proceed if householders are compensated and given alternative housing.
