Embarrassing Padres Owe Dodgers For Dismal Showing Against Reds

What a difference a year makes. Last year at this time, the Padres were fighting for the league lead against the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers were out of the race. But they still had the character and pride to sweep the Giants the last weekend of the season, thereby giving the Padres a chance to hang onto their hopes for a division title.

This year, the positions were reversed, but the Padres lacked the character to make a difference. They gave up and spoiled any chance the Dodgers had of overtaking the Reds. How ironic that they let the team that knocked them out of the race last year roll all over them this year.
