The <i> Hispanic/Latino </i> Debate: The Language Is Still Searching for a Term That Satisfies Everyone
It is illogical of Antonio Bernal, in his Sept. 9 letter, to decry the use of the word Hispanic while himself using the words Anglo and Latino. All three words refer to language, not ethnicity.
Otherwise, precisely to whom is Bernal referring when he says “Anglo”? Is it to all “northwestern Europeans” in this country?
