Brian Mitchell of South Africa successfully defended his WBA junior-lightweight title for a record 11th time with a unanimous decision over Frank Mitchell of Philadelphia at Aosta, Italy.
Frank Mitchell, 31, of Philadelphia, suffered his first loss in 26 professional fights. Brian Mitchell improved to 42-1-2.
On the undercard, Welcome Ncita (27-0) of South Africa retained his IBF super-bantamweight title by knocking out Gerardo Lopez (11-2) of Panama in the eighth round.
