Women in Film Festival: The four-day Women in Film Festival will open with the premiere of director Diane Kurys’ family drama “C’est La Vie,” Oct. 25, organizers of the sixth annual event announced. In all, 47 films and documentaries--written, directed or produced by women--will screen at the festival, which is open to the public at the Directors Guild of America headquarters in Hollywood. Among the films screening will be “The Asthenic Syndrome,” directed by Kira Muratova, from the Soviet Union; “The Big Steal,” directed and produced by Nadia Tass, from Australia; and “Bright Angel,” produced by Paige Simpson and Robert Maclean, from the United States.
