Diamond Bar : Pitching In on Waste
The City Council voted Tuesday night to join with other east San Gabriel Valley cities in developing a state-mandated plan to reduce the amount of landfill waste in the next five years.
The city was added to the 15 other members of the East San Gabriel Valley Integrated Waste Management--Joint Powers Authority, created to implement the 1989 act that ordered all California cities to cut landfill waste 25% by 1995.
Diamond Bar’s share of the cost to the authority will be $29,000 to $63,000, depending on the consultant chosen.
