American to Expand Miami Hub Service: American Airlines, which recently acquired the Latin American routes of bankrupt Eastern Airlines, said it will add 52 flights a week this fall and winter from Miami to Latin America and the Caribbean. The airline said it will initiate service linking Miami with Managua, Nicaragua, St. Thomas and St. Croix beginning Dec. 15. The airline said it also plans to expand service to cities in Ecuador, Colombia, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Haiti and Puerto Rico, and begin nonstop service to Lima, Peru, and Santiago, Chile.
