Would-Be Robber Shot to Death by Clerk
An Agoura Hills liquor store clerk shot and killed a man he said was attempting to rob the store Thursday night, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.
The robber walked into the Liquor Chest in the 5000 block of Kanan Road shortly after 7 p.m. and “produced a .22-caliber pistol,” Deputy Rich Erickson said.
“The clerk produced a 9mm pistol and shot the would-be robber” in the arm and neck, Erickson said.
The gunman died at Westlake Village Community Hospital.
Sheriff’s deputies had not identified the man, but described him as a “male Hispanic in his mid-20s.”
The clerk was not injured.
