Agoura 21, Simi Valley 14--Agoura endured a scare from visiting Simi Valley before quarterback Sean Fitzgerald rescued the Chargers (4-1, 1-1) by rushing for two second-half touchdowns.

Simi Valley quarterback Tim Kirksey completed 17 of 38 passes for 236 yards and one touchdown. Kirksey’s 67-yard pass to wide receiver Dave Romines gave the Pioneers (0-5, 0-2) a 14-7 lead early in the third quarter.

However, Fitzgerald countered with a 14-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to tie the score, 14-14, and a 20-yard run midway through the fourth quarter.

Agoura’s defense stopped a Simi Valley drive late in the fourth quarter when defensive back Sina Sayahi intercepted a Kirksey pass at the Agoura 28-yard line.
