Electro Rent Buyback of 500,000 Shares OKd

Electro Rent Corp. said its board authorized the Van Nuys-based company to repurchase up to 500,000 of its common shares in periodic purchases in the open market or through negotiated sales.

Electro Rent, which currently has 4.2 million shares outstanding, rents telecommunications test equipment and computers to other businesses.
