LEFT OUT: A name that isn’t--but ought to be--on Forbes’ list of the richest Americans (D14) is Orange County’s Joan Irvine Smith, granddaughter of the founder of the Irvine Ranch. . . . Already a wealthy woman, she has an estimated $249 million to $274 million coming from the Irvine Co. as court-ordered payment for stock she sold in 1983. Locals still on Forbes’ list: Donald L. Bren, William Lyon, Richard J. O’Neill and George L. Argyros.
