Sketch of Suspect in 9 Rapes Released
Los Angeles police Tuesday began circulating a composite drawing of a man suspected of raping nine elderly women in Hollywood and West Los Angeles over the past five months.
Detectives said the rapist goes to the front door of his victims’ homes and strikes up a conversation “using some type of ruse,” then forces his way inside, beats the woman, rapes her and robs her home. The assaults usually occur between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Most of the victims have been in their 70s and 80s, police said. The oldest victim was 88.
Police describe the rapist as muscular, 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 170 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. He is reportedly clean-shaven, well-spoken and usually wears a white T-shirt or short-sleeved shirt and jeans.
