Alhambra : Firm to Search for Fire Chief

Share

The City Council on Monday selected a management consulting firm to recruit a fire chief to replace Robert G. Tolladay Jr., who died in a plane crash in August.

Hughes, Heiss and Associates, with offices in San Mateo and Pasadena, was the middle-price bidder of five firms that applied to conduct the search, which is expected to take three or four months. The company said its services will cost the city $16,000 or less.

Hughes, Heiss was selected because it has recruited 35 fire chiefs, far more than any other bidder, and because it was the only firm with experience in complying with federal affirmative action guidelines, according to a report by Ann Moore, city personnel director/risk manager.
