Vending Permits Put on Hold

Share

The Inglewood City Council decided Tuesday to issue no new permits for ice cream or catering trucks in the city until tighter regulations are adopted.

The vote was a reaction to complaints that the trucks generate trash and noise and often violate health codes and a city ordinance limiting vending in one location to 15 minutes.

The council agreed not to accept new applications for six months while it studies new regulations. The city’s Permits and Licensing Committee receives several such applications every month, city officials said.
