SAN DIEGO — “Dallas” star Patrick Duffy and his wife, Carlyn, a former ballet dancer who trained in San Diego as a child, will be special guests at California Ballet’s Halloween fund-raiser Oct. 20 at the La Jolla Hyatt Regency.
“The Duffys have been friends of our ballet company for years,” said artistic director Maxine Mahon. “Carlyn and I took ballet lessons together at one time.”
The company’s ties to the Duffys don’t end there. The actor met his wife while narrating performances and teaching movement classes for Charles Bennett’s First Chamber Dance Company in New York. Bennett is now associate director of the California Ballet.
The Halloween event will feature the premiere of “Murder at the Ballet,” a thriller written around a rehearsal for California Ballet’s “Dracula,” as well as an auction conducted by Robert Arnhym and a black-tie dinner.
