Pistons Beat Clippers Again as Thomas Takes Over, 118-111

Isiah Thomas’ 14 third-quarter points helped the defending NBA champion Detroit Pistons rally for a 118-111 exhibition win over the Clippers on Saturday night.

The Pistons are 2-0 in the exhibition season, both wins coming against the Clippers.

Thomas led the Pistons with 19 points and center James Edwards added 18. The Clippers’ Ken Norman led all scorers with 26 points.

The Pistons trailed, 58-57, at halftime and led, 81-80, with 1:30 left in the third quarter when Thomas scored five consecutive points to stretch the Pistons’ lead to six. Detroit led by as many as 12 during the fourth quarter.

The Clippers trailed, 49-39, with 6:20 left in the second quarter, but battled back behind Norman’s 14 second-quarter points to go ahead before halftime.
