Gallegly’s Accomplishments
A reader asked what accomplishments Congressman Elton Gallegly has to his record. On help from the federal government for local projects: Gallegly is working to obtain port of entry status for the Port of Hueneme and is working to obtain funds from the Highway Trust Fund. The money would be used to build an access road from Rice Road to the port.
On the subject of senior citizens, here are some facts: He has never voted to restrict benefits under Social Security. He was co-sponsor of legislation to repeal taxation of Social Security benefits. He voted to protect older Americans and the elderly in nursing homes. He was responsible for building one of the most modern senior centers in California.
On the war against drugs: Gallegly is seeking funds for an innovative program proposed for Ventura County courts and has sponsored legislation to intensify the nation’s war on drugs.
