SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

A used-oil recycling program in Thousand Oaks that has collected more than 10,000 gallons in nine months will be expanded.

Grahame Watts, the city’s recycling coordinator, said the program, which since February has collected residual auto fluids free of charge on the third Saturday of each month, now will also accept the fluids on the first Thursday of each month.

The program allows residents to bring used transmission, crankcase, gearbox and differential oil to the city’s Municipal Service Center at 1851 De Havilland Drive.
