LOS ALAMITOS : Perede Aims to Shine Again in Rising Star
Perede will be gunning for her seventh win of the year when she takes on Bonny Bo Scot and seven others in the $35,000 Rising Star Series Final for pacing fillies and mares Friday night at Los Alamitos.
Trained by Pete Foley and driven by Jack Parker Jr., Perede comes into Friday night’s finale having already beaten many of her rivals. The daughter of Transport Chip has raced well throughout the Rising Star Series with third-place finishes in the opening two legs.
Perede was on her game last Friday night. The 5-year-old New Zealand-bred was the second favorite in the wagering behind Bonny Bo Scot, which won the first two legs of the series.
Perede was the better horse Friday night, as she prevailed by l 1/4 lengths over Bonny Bo Scot in a lifetime best time of 1:56 4/5.
Others that look strong for the race are Black On Black, which was recently the runner-up behind Lepton in the $39,862 Electioneer Futurity; Margaret’s Chance, the early leader Friday before fading to fourth, and Sheena Royale, the third-place finisher behind Perede and Bonny Bo Scot.
