Sniff This: Cassandra Peterson, better known as Elvira, threw a party Tuesday in Beverly Hills to launch Evil, her new fragrance. At $7.95 for 0.8 ounces of cologne spray, “It’s inexpensive, just like me,” said Elvira, who is donating a part of proceeds from the cruelty-free fragrance to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Handling It: Barbara Bush tops the list of people who handle “extraordinary pressures with ease,” according to a list drawn by the Hilton hotel chain. Others on the “best-stressed list” include pop singer Gloria Estefan, actor Harrison Ford and pitcher Nolan Ryan. Even Marge Simpson made the list, says a news release issued by the chain, because the cartoon mom’s blue beehive hairdo has not wilted even though “The Simpsons” is going head to head against “The Cosby Show.”

Booked: Random House has bought the U.S. and Canadian rights to the yet-untitled autobiography of Rupert Murdoch, the Australian media mogul. The book will tell how he bought the New York Post, New York magazine and the Village Voice as well as 20th Century Fox and television stations, and will detail his views of women and his fights with his editors.

McWinner: NBC broadcast the winning number to the nation, but Tanya Jackson, 22, didn’t learn until the next day she had won $2 million--she doesn’t have a television set, at least not yet. In the “McMillions on NBC” contest, players pick up numbered game cards at McDonald’s restaurants and winning numbers are announced on NBC. Jackson’s number was announced Sunday, but she only found out she was a winner when her father drove her to a McDonald’s in Connersville, Ind., the next day. “I started screaming,” Jackson said.
