Winter made a sneak preview in western Nevada, as snow capped the Sierra today following what many hope is just the first of more wet storms to come.
About four inches of snow fell at Mt. Rose Ski Resort on the Mt. Rose Summit around the 9,000-foot elevation.
“I hope it keeps coming,” said resort manager Paul Senft.
He said the white stuff started falling late Thursday afternoon.
“It’s been snowing real light all morning,” he said today.
Echo Summit reported mostly rain, but did see about an inch of snow at 7,350 feet, meteorologist Jim Fischer said.
