Dale Ellis of the Seattle SuperSonics will serve a one-day jail sentence next Thursday for driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.
He crashed his car into an Interstate 5 on-ramp divider in Seattle on Jan. 12 and was convicted Sept. 28 after a jury trial. His sentence also includes a $500 fine, 60 hours of community service and attendance at a traffic institute and a DWI victims’ panel.
Pending is a probation violation involving a deferred sentence in Bellevue, Wash., District Court for earlier incidents of domestic violence assault and resisting arrest. A probation review hearing is set for Nov. 7.
