Edison rolled up 355 yards and cruised to a 36-9 Sunset League victory over Westminster at Orange Coast College Friday night.

Edison (6-1, 4-0 in league play), started the scoring on its first drive. After Charger quarterback Josh Gingrich threw two incompletions, he teamed up with Ryan Blanchard for a 30-yard gain to put Edison at Westminster’s 35. Travis Balding, who rushed for 94 yards on 12 carries, later scored, but the PAT failed.

Westminster (2-4-1, 1-1-1 in league play) pulled to within three in the second quarter when Ken Scott kicked a 41-yard field goal.

The Chargers made it 19-3 after Gingrich, who was 16 for 31 for 205 yards, threw to Blanchard for the score.

After an Edison field goal made it 22-3, Gingrich teamed up with Brandon Jessie for a touchdown, and the extra point made it 29-3. Edison’s final score came when John Khamus threw 35 yards to Eidam.

Westminster scored with a short pass on the final play.
