Newman as Psycho

One important fact was missing from Pat H. Broeske’s Oct. 7 article on director Michael Cimino and “Desperate Hours.” Paul Newman created the role of the homicidal psycho on Broadway, long before Humphrey Bogart repeated that role on film.
It was Newman’s Broadway debut, and a far cry from his leading-man parts later on.
