A San Marcos woman died when her car rolled down an embankment along the Del Dios Highway near Lake Hodges Dam.
Patricia Futko, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Witnesses said Futko was driving east at high speed at 3:19 p.m. Sunday when the accident occurred about 1.3 miles west of Rancho Drive, the spokesman said.
The car crossed the highway’s center line, swerved back, hit the curb and rolled down a ravine, the spokesman said. The cause of the crash is under investigation. The car was destroyed.
