Rangers’ Turcotte Extends Streak, 5-1

New York’s Darren Turcotte extended his NHL-high point-scoring streak to 10 games with a goal and an assist Monday night as the Rangers beat the Toronto Maple Leafs, 5-1.

The Leafs fell to 1-7-1, the worst record in the league. The Rangers won their seventh game in the last eight and remained unbeaten in five games at home.

Turcotte, who has at least one point in every game this season, assisted on a goal by Paul Broten in the first period. He also scored a power-play goal in the second period for a 4-1 lead, improving his team-leading point total to 18.
