Eric Davis, Cincinnati Reds outfielder, left Oakland and checked into a Cincinnati hospital to continue treatment for a bruised kidney he suffered in the final game of the World Series.
Davis is expected to remain in Christ Hospital for several days, said Red spokesman Jon Braude, who earlier in the day said Davis had improved enough to resume eating solid food.
