Women have heard promises for years. This time they can vote for a record. Pete Wilson’s policies and vision are based on 24 years of support to women and to women’s issues, and the kind of thoughtful, independent leadership that benefits all citizens of this great state.

Universal prenatal care is just one example of a program that embodies Wilson’s innovative thinking. It is the soundest investment we can make in giving children a better start in life. It’s not only most humane, it’s also fiscally smart: The average cost of universal prenatal care for poor women is about $1,500; neonatal intensive care for one premature baby averages $1,500 per day! Add to that the lifetime costs of health care and special education for each impaired child, and it’s clear why providing prenatal care make sense.

Women are active in this campaign, and we will make a difference. Our message is very simple: We’re voting for a record, not rhetoric, for performance, not promises. That’s why Pete Wilson will get our vote.
