Annexation and Development
I see that both Simi Valley Mayor Greg Stratton and Councilwoman Vicky Howard (a member of LAFCO running for county supervisor) have received substantial campaign contributions from the Ahmanson Corp.
Could it be that the Ahmanson Corp. is preparing to ask Simi Valley to annex Ahmanson Ranch in the event that its proposed development is denied by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors because of its adverse impacts?
If Simi Valley is permitted to annex Jordan Ranch, precedent will be set and there will be no reason to deny the Ahmanson annexation and development. For that matter, there will no reason to deny any crazy annexation and development scheme throughout the county.
