Belmont 26, Lincoln 25--One week after upsetting Wilson to become a contender in the City 3-A Division, the Tigers were upset at home by the Sentinels.

Belmont scored the winning touchdown with 15 seconds remaining when quarterback Gino Contreras connected with Edgar Moreno from 12 yards out. Lincoln held a 25-20 lead.

Contreras, a senior, completed 17 of 33 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns. David Panameo caught the other touchdown pass, which covered eight yards.

The Sentinels, 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the Northern Conference, balanced their offense with running back Tajh Evans, who rushed for 102 yards in 22 carries and scored on a six-yard run.

Fairfax 34, Manual Arts 7--The Lions, the Times’ sixth-ranked City team, rolled up 474 yards of offense to easily win this Metro League game at Fairfax.

Senior running back Mario Mattison rushed for 189 yards in 18 carries and scored touchdowns on runs of 30 and 28 yards. Quarterback Rahim Muhammad completed six of 12 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Milo Bynum caught both touchdown passes, which covered 22 and 65 yards.

Fairfax, 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the Coastal Conference, led 20-7 at halftime and outscored the Toilers, 14-0, in the third quarter. Manual Arts is 4-4 and 3-2.

Eagle Rock 28, Verdugo Hills 7--Tailback Robert Mancilla rushed 39 times for 217 yards and three touchdowns as the Eagles (4-3, 4-1) scored three times in the second half to beat the visiting Dons in a City Northeastern League game. Mancilla scored on a 23-yard run in the second quarter and added a pair of three-yard touchdown runs in the second half.

Verdugo Hills (1-4, 1-7) managed only 14 total yards in the second half.
