West Los Angeles 14, Valley 0--Cary Tiller rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown in 26 carries to help the Oilers (4-4, 1-2 in the WSC Southern Division) shut out Valley (3-5, 1-2) at West L. A.

The Oilers scored all their points in the first quarter. Tiller scored on a 34-yard run on West L. A.’s first series. Quarterback Chris McCloud hit Issac Bruce for a 38-yard touchdown strike on the Oilers’ next possession and McCloud ran for a two-point conversion.

The Monarchs failed to capitalize on four drives inside the Oilers’ 20-yard line in the second half. Three interceptions and a fumble stopped them.

Valley quarterback Trendell Williams completed 10 of 18 attempts for 113 yards but threw two interceptions. Williams was replaced by Mark Mengoni (11 of 16, 114 yards, one interception) in the fourth quarter.

Valley’s Larry Avery finished with six catches for 83 yards and Marcus Bridges with six for 52 yards.
