Chamberlain’s Condition Is Unimproved

Share

The condition of Mission Bay High School football booster Mike Chamberlain did not improve Sunday, said his wife, Betsy. Chamberlain has been hospitalized since Friday afternoon, when he suffered an arrhythmic attack of his heart while watching his son David play in a Mission Bay football game.

Chamberlain, 49, president of the Buc Football Club, remained in a coma at Mission Bay Hospital and experienced “some brain swelling.”

“He has made very, very slow and minute progress,” Betsy Chamberlain said. “It could be five to seven days before anything happens. We’re praying for him and hoping he gets better quick.”

Betsy said doctors are considering transfering Chamberlain to another hospital when his condition improves so he can undergo tests. In the meantime, he is being heavily sedated because he become restless. Betsy said Mission Bay High School will give its students daily updates on Chamberlain this week.
