The Sidelines : Foreman Exhibition Bout Set
George Foreman, who is scheduled to meet newly crowned world heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield for the title at Atlantic City in April, will fight in an exhibition bout Nov. 20.
Foreman, 41, who has won 22 straight bouts since ending a 10-year layoff in 1987, has agreed to appear in a four-round, no decision bout at the Sherwood Club, promoter Fred Berns said Monday.
Berns said he hopes to match Foreman against either former world light-heavyweight champion J. B. Williamson or Dickie Ryan, a former Nebraska all-state football player who is in the United States Boxing Assn.’s top 10.
The eight-round main event of the Nov. 20 card will pit welterweight Terry Thomas of Lafayette against Jimmy Duke of Norman, Okla.
